The next LSC meeting at Lincoln Park is November 8th - Wednesday - 5:30 a.m.
Students and staff plan to return to find out if the LSC has taken any position on the restricted Library services and especially the "cut" of a long time Librarian, Union Delegate, Service Learning Coach and LSC teacher rep.
Any concerned CPS or community members are encouraged to attend and show suppurt against the arbitrary and retaliatory actions of the principal, Bessie Karvelas.

We must all support our fellow union members. What officer has gone to Lincoln Park High School to speak up on behalf of a tenured teacher fired. What reason is the LSC at Lincoln Park giving for choosing to change its hiring based on state chapter funds.
I submitted a recommendation to the CTU for negotiation in the newest contract to have the Board of Education provide two full time librarians for school over 700 students. Perhaps this would help.
What other creative solutions are out there. All librarians, physical education teachers and fine arts/music teachers who are staffed at half time by the board and the other half time by state discretionary funding are at risk of losing their jobs. These educational speiclists are partly funded by state chapter funds and therefore, serve at the pleasure of the principal.
What are we going to do about this?
Your thoughts are welcome.

Most of the members of the LP LSC are either gutless cowards, brain dead --- or maybe simply corporate folks who simply don't care about some "teacher" getting fired by management.
They will went the word gets around about that school.
